About
FOCUS
Colin Schmidt is a specialist in the Epistemology of artificial and natural communication. His interest in their meeting points compels him to explore Dialogical Models of Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, the social roles of Humanoid Robotics, Identity in Virtual Reality environments as well as into the very Logic of human Relations. In order to further his research agenda he draws on universal notions from Social Informatics and the Philosophy of Mind and Language (i.e. Intentionality, reference, categorisation). Focusing on discourse about our future, his approach is anthropological, deliberately probatory as well as terminological.
A good example of one of his initiatives is leading an iscc-CNRS research project called EspistHOMME+ : http://www.iscc.cnrs.fr/spip.php?article1419
